Last Friday the ear rest on my Costa DelMar sunglasses broke and I was leaving that night for a weekend Mosquito Lagoon redfish trip. Needless to say we would be sight fishing all weekend and a good pair of polarized sunglasses are as important as your rod and reel. I have been a customer of Costa for long time and they make great sunglasses, however I am getting tired of spending so much money on sunglasses only to have them blow off my head or get stepped on or broke.
We have been selling Bimini Bay Sunglasses for some time and the customers I have spoken with seem to like them so I decided to grab a pair for my trip. Since we would be fishing inshore I went for the Bimini Bay MB-BB1AG with the Green lenses for inshore sight fishing. The first thing I noticed was how light the glasses were. I wore them home that afternoon, they fit comfortably and I was surprised at how clear the lenses were.
I spent the rest of the weekend wearing the Bimini Bay Sunglasses, they fit snug, were very comfortable and the light frames did not apply any pressure on my temples like many glasses do after wearing them all day. I could also see the bottom and fish as good as with the much more expensive Costa’s. My partner was wearing another brand of polarized sunglasses and we were spotting fish from equal distances. i must say I was impressed.
I have now grabbed a couple of pairs and will keep a spare with me at all times. At roughly $19.95 a pair it never hurts to have an extra pair of quality polarized sunglasses. I would highly recommend the Bimini Bay Sunglasses for both inshore and offshore fishing conditions.
